POULTRY FARMERS OF KAZAKHSTAN UNITED INTO A SINGLE UNION. A NEW PRESIDENT HAS BEEN ELECTED
Poultry enterprises in Kazakhstan have united into a single Union of Poultry Farmers, combining the efforts of the Association of Egg Producers and the former Union of Poultry Farmers.
Kairat Maishev, general director of Zhas-Kanat 2006 and Poultry-Agro, chairman of the regional council of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kostanay region and head of the Association of Egg Producers, was elected as the head of the union. He actively represents business interests at various levels and has extensive experience in the agro-industrial sphere.
The decision on consolidation was made taking into account the interests of more than 60 core enterprises to strengthen the position of the industry and building an effective dialogue with the state.

Among the key objectives of the Union of Poultry Farmers of the country:
• Increasing the profitability of enterprises by strengthening measures to protect the domestic market, developing processing and expanding state support;
• Growth of poultry meat and egg production;
• Solution of local problems of poultry farms and systemic co-operation with government agencies;
• Reducing dependence on imports
• Development of logistics and support for product transport;
• Improving biosecurity, introducing modern vaccines and combating particularly dangerous diseases;
• Development of poultry breeding (including construction of a hatchery in Akmola region);
• Promotion of consumption of domestic products.
According to Kairat Maishev, the Union will not only protect the interests of poultry farmers, but also actively participate in the development of regulations, investment programmes and strategies for the development of the industry.
Among the already achieved results of the Egg Producers Association:
• Signing and implementation of three Memoranda on egg price stabilisation;
• A temporary ban on egg imports, which significantly stabilised the domestic market;
• Introduction of measures aimed at protecting domestic producers;
• Providing access to feed wheat through the Food Contract Corporation;
• Preparing for the transition to comprehensive environmental permits;
• Working with legislative initiatives in the sector
The unification of poultry farmers into one union was an important step towards sustainable development of the industry and strengthening its role in ensuring the country's food security.
Ruslan Sharipov, former head of the Kazakhstan Poultry Union, joined the board of the union. His contribution to the development of poultry farming was highly appreciated - he was awarded the title of Honorary President of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan!
