ION TENGE WILL BE INVESTED IN PROCESSING OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS IN ALMATY REGION

Development Bank of Kazakhstan and Qazaq Global Food JV LLP signed an agreement on opening a credit line for the investment project on construction of a fruit and vegetable processing plant with storage and packaging infrastructure. The total cost of the project is 9.5 billion tenge, the DBK press service reported.

The plant will produce fruit juice concentrates, as well as vegetable and fruit purees. The plan is to process up to 70 thousand tonnes of fruits and vegetables per year. The volume of finished products will be up to 6,150 tonnes of concentrated juice and 6,700 tonnes of vegetable and fruit purees annually.

"The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in April 2026. All products will meet the requirements of Kazakhstani and international quality standards and will be oriented to foreign and domestic markets," the DBK said.

The plant is planned to be built on the territory of Yenbekshikazakh district of Almaty region. The site was chosen due to a number of factors: convenient location in relation to the main suppliers of raw materials and consumers of apple storage services, as well as the availability of transport accessibility, which facilitates the delivery of raw materials and reduces the cost of its transport by intermediaries or farmers.

The strategic partner in the project is Goknur Gida, Turkey's largest company for processing and growing fruit, organic juices, concentrates and purees. The company acts as the main supplier of processing equipment and provides 100% buy-back of finished products within the framework of offtake contract.
